Evidently, Tanah <a href=\"https:\/\/helloindonesia.id\/rencong-aceh-traditional-weapon\/2157\/indonesian\/\">Rencong<\/a> became the last area to surrender to the Dutch colonialism. And even then only materialized after decades of failure and great losses in overthrowing the Sultanate of <a href=\"https:\/\/helloindonesia.id\/category\/indonesia\/sumatra\/aceh\/\">Aceh<\/a>. Aside from history being recorded as the most difficult area to conquer, <a href=\"https:\/\/helloindonesia.id\/category\/indonesia\/sumatra\/aceh\/\">Aceh<\/a> is also one of the regions that has contributed greatly to Indonesia&#8217;s struggle for independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"855\" height=\"570\" src=\"https:\/\/helloindonesia.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/ri_1.jpg\" alt=\"Seulawah RI-001 Monument\" class=\"wp-image-2217\" srcset=\"https:\/\/helloindonesia.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/ri_1.jpg 855w, https:\/\/helloindonesia.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/ri_1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/helloindonesia.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/ri_1-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 855px) 100vw, 855px\" \/><figcaption>Seulawah RI-001 Monument<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Seulawah RI-001 <a href=\"https:\/\/helloindonesia.id\/category\/budaya\/architecture\/\">monument<\/a>, located in Blang Padang Square, Baiturrahman District, Banda <a href=\"https:\/\/helloindonesia.id\/category\/indonesia\/sumatra\/aceh\/\">Aceh<\/a>, witnesses the <a href=\"https:\/\/helloindonesia.id\/category\/history\/nusantara\/\">historical<\/a> contribution of the people of <a href=\"https:\/\/helloindonesia.id\/category\/indonesia\/sumatra\/aceh\/\">Aceh<\/a> in supporting the government to uphold the sovereignty of the newly established Republic of Indonesia at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the period of Dutch military aggression in 1948, rapid distribution of logistics between regions was needed. Air transportation is the solution to overcome the enemy blockade that obstructs road access. This was realized by President Soekarno who then initiated fundraising for the purchase of government transport aircraft. This effort was responded very well by the <a href=\"https:\/\/helloindonesia.id\/category\/indonesia\/sumatra\/aceh\/\">Aceh<\/a> merchants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seulawah RI-001 is a DC-3 type aircraft, the production of the Douglas Aircraft Company. With a body length of 19.66 meters and a wing span of 28.96 m, the aircraft is capable of performing nonstop flights as far as 2,430 km. Both wings are equipped with Pratt &#038; Whitney engines with a weight of 8030 kg which is able to bring this aircraft to fly with a maximum speed of up to 346 km \/ hour.
