According to history, the plate dance which was the inspiration for the creation of the Piriang Suluah Dance was indeed developing for the first time in the Solok region. Over time, this dance then spread to various other regions in West Sumatra, following the spread of Minangkabau culture. In fact, this dance also carried over into the territory of Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia. In this area, there are communities of Minangkabau descent who still hold the arts and culture of their native regions, including the plate dance. Plate dance and various variants of new creations inspired by the Piriang Talang dance have become a regional identity for the province of West Sumatra. The dancer&#8217;s skill in playing ceramic plates on the stage is a treat that catches the eyes of the audience. Attraction walking and dancing on broken glass which is an integral part of this dance, is a characteristic that is always remembered by those who watched it. This agile movement, spiced with thrilling acrobatic attractions, is an impressive entertainment for outsiders.
