The Process of Making Roasted Beans in Kawangkoan

Helloindonesia.id – Kawangkoan is one of the areas in Tomohon, Minahasa, North Sulawesi which is blessed with natural beauty. Not only that, the area that has cool air because it is located in the highlands of North Sulawesi also has a lot of potential in agriculture and plantations. Call it like coffee, corn, vegetables, cloves, and beans. In fact, Kawangkoan is the main supplier of peanuts in North Sulawesi.

One of the products produced by the community in Kawangkoan is roasted peanuts. The beans, which are known to the local community as tore beans, are processed by roasting in a frying pan with a diameter of about 1.5 meters for approximately 45 minutes. Uniquely, the roasting process on a frying pan using mountain sand should not stop because if you stop it can cause the beans to burn. Before roasting, peanuts must be dried in the sun first.

After the roasting process is complete, the beans are then packed into a plastic that has been labeled. Then these roasted beans are marketed at a price of Rp. 8,000 per liter. We find many roasted bean makers in the Kawangkoan area, one of the areas in Tomohon. Besides being able to see the manufacturing process, in this area we can also see a peanut garden that is cultivated by farmers in an area with an altitude of about 800 meters above sea level.
