Muhammadiyah is the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia . It was founded in 1912 in Yogyakarta by KH Ahmad Dahlan. Muhammadiyah is a modern Islamic movement that emphasizes simplicity and self-reliance.
The history of Muhammadiyah began in 1912 when KH Ahmad Dahlan became concerned about the condition of the Muslim community in Indonesia, which at that time was influenced by local traditions and had little knowledge of true Islam. He wanted to improve this situation by establishing an organization that could help Indonesian Muslims understand and practice Islam correctly.
In an effort to achieve this goal, KH Ahmad Dahlan founded Muhammadiyah with the aim of helping Muslims understand Islamic teachings and spreading moderate Islamic thoughts. The organization also aimed to eliminate religious practices that were considered incompatible with true Islamic teachings.
Muhammadiyah has many social programs aimed at helping the Muslim community in Indonesia, such as education, healthcare, and assistance for the underprivileged. One of Muhammadiyahâs most famous programs is education, by establishing modern schools and pesantren that aim to provide quality and relevant Islamic education to the community.
Today, Muhammadiyah has developed into the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia . The organization has millions of members and followers throughout Indonesia and continues to contribute to improving social and religious conditions in Indonesia.
