Magnificent and Beautiful Sawai Cliffs on Ora Beach

The morning in Sawai Village, Central Maluku is the right time to start an adventurous journey around the north of Seram Island. The sun shone beautifully and warmly, even the sparkle reflected on the surface of the sea water. We boarded a katingting, a kind of traditional boat that was fitted with a simple engine as its motor. Our goal this time is Sawai Cliff.

Cliff Sawai is a location located between Kampung Sawai and the famous Ora Beach. As the name implies, this very large cliff stretches wide and becomes a very beautiful panoramic object. Basically, Sawai Cliffs are rock cliffs that were formed due to sea erosion over thousands of years. The condition of this cliff is very beautiful, except for some graffiti on the cliff wall made by unscrupulous tourists. When viewed from a distance, this cliff is very similar to the typical Chinese ocean panorama paintings. When departing from Sawai village, by motor boat it will only take 10 minutes.

Ora Beach Atmosphere

Sawai Cliffs have long been an attraction for tourists visiting North Seram, especially the village of Sawai or Ora Beach Resort. Sawai Cliffs can not only be enjoyed by the panorama, but at the foot of this cliff we can snorkel or explore a cave located on the edge of the cliff. In addition, a gazebo made by local residents was made in the waters at the foot of the cliff to just rest or even have lunch while enjoying the beautiful ocean on the edge of the cliff.

Tourist Magnets

The sea currents at Sawai Cliff are quite safe, although the waves are quite heavy. Tourists usually do snorkeling around the foot of the cliff which has white and fine sand. The fish in these waters are small in size but quite a lot of variety. Indeed, for coral reefs it is not very attractive, but the foot of the Sawai Cliff holds a charm that is quite beautiful to enjoy. When the water recedes, the cave on the cliff is quite challenging to explore. According to local residents, this cave has many swallow nests.

Sawai Cliff is an attraction that becomes a magnet for tourists. In fact, for rock climbing lovers, this object is considered one of the most beautiful challenging cliffs in all of Indonesia. One object of Sawai Cliffs has actually become an interesting object to visit, but from this one object we can also imagine the natural beauty of other objects.
