Gelora Sriwijaya, South Sumatera Pride Stadium

Nicknamed the Wong Kito Warriors, Sriwijaya FC is headquartered in one of Indonesia’s Pride Stadium, namely Jakabaring Stadium in Palembang. The stadium is called Gelora Sriwijaya, located in Jalan HA Bastari, Jakabaring, Palembang. From the center of Palembang City to the stadium location is only about 7 km. It can be reached by land vehicle in about 15 minutes journey.

Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium is located in Palembang’s Jakabaring Sports Complex. Which is also equipped with various other sports facilities, such as swimming pool, gymnastics facilities, and bike racing. The stadium is the third largest multifunctional stadium in Indonesia after Gelora Sukarno and Palaran Stadium in Samarinda.

Built on an area of 40 hectares, Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium has an audience capacity of 40,000 people. There are four stands in the stadium, the main stand is protected by the roof. Which is supported by two large steel arches? On the east side of the stadium, there is a giant torch equipped with the Garuda logo. History Of The Stadium

The stadium was built on 1 January 2001. The construction was accelerated until it was used in September 2004 as the host of PON XVI. As the headquarters of Sriwijaya FC, one of the giant club in the national football competition. Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium is one of the three stadiums with standard A Asia owned by Indonesia.

As A Standard Stadium of Asia, Gelora Sriwijaya Palembang is often designated as A venue for major games. In 2007, the stadium was trusted as a companion to Gelora Dude Karno Stadium in the Grand Asian Cup event. In addition, Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium is also the culmination of the 2011 Sea Games event.
