North Maluku
North Maluku is a province located in the northern part of the Maluku Islands, strategically positioned along the historic spice trade routes. Its territory includes major islands such as Halmahera, Ternate, Tidore, Morotai, and many smaller islands scattered across the Pacific Ocean.
The history of North Maluku is closely tied to the glory of two great sultanates: Ternate and Tidore, which flourished as global spice trade centers and diplomatic hubs from the 15th to 17th centuries. Today, remnants of this past can be seen in old forts, ancient mosques, and living traditions.
Beyond its historical heritage, this place is blessed with stunning natural beauty: white sandy beaches, spectacular underwater views around Morotai, and the green mountains of Halmahera. The local culture remains vibrant, showcased in traditional ceremonies, unique music, and the distinct sasadu traditional houses.
