Commemorating the Birth of Public Transportation in Indonesia
Every April 24, Indonesia observes National Transportation Day. This commemoration traces back to the founding of the country’s first public transport agency, DAMRI (Djawatan Angkoetan Motor Repoeblik Indonesia), in 1943 during the Japanese occupation.
