Helloindonesia.id – This lute musical instrument has a unique shape that is like a hornbill, a sacred animal for the Dayak community. This is the Central Kalimantan harp, a stringed instrument with two types of lut that is commonly used when playing when welcoming honorary guests.

Central Kalimantan harps are made of light wood from hanjalulung trees. These strings or harp strings use material from wire or nylon thread. In the past, the strings for the harp were made using rattan or bark because they were more durable, strong, and had a distinctive sound.
Besides being played to welcome guests of honor, the harp is also usually played to accompany dances such as war dances, and traditional songs from Central Kalimantan. The harp is also commonly played by the people there when relaxed. While spending leisure time, people in Kalimantan usually play musical instruments that at first glance like this guitar.

Later, the harp was also collaborated with other musical instruments such as rabab, flute, kangkanang, katambung and gandang. The combination of some of these musical instruments becomes harmonious typical music of Kalimantan and is usually performed at Central Kalimantan Regional Government events.
