Helloindonesia.id – After the release ceremony of the dragon -carrying group to Kutai Lama was completed, a number of rituals were held around the Kutai Palace. The rituals are consecutive, namely beumban, begorok, and rangga titi. The whole ritual will be a prelude before the belimbur ritual is performed by all Kutai residents.



In the beumban, the Sultan was laid on a mattress (mattress) wrapped in yellow cloth. The Sultan’s body was then covered with a piece of yellow cloth. The Sultan’s head faces north and his feet are to the south. On the mattress, several ritual items were placed, including pillows, pillows, residents (a package of offerings that represent the whole human being), and lighted candles in each corner of the mattress. This ritual took place in Ruang Stinggil (Siti Hinggil), Kutai Palace.
An elder from the Sultanate’s relatives will lead this ritual. He would take a betel nut and rub it on a yellow cloth spread out by four other relatives. The betel nut is rubbed from head to knee once. This is repeated twice with the Sultan’s position facing right (west) and left (east). Next, the Sultan will return to his back and sit facing east.
The ceremony continued with a shout. In this ritual, the Sultan sits on a yellow bamboo hall (haur kuning) which has 41 pillars. The Sultan’s position faces east. Above the Sultan’s head, a tuhing caravan cloth is laid which will then be turned over by two pangkon (abdi dalem) twice. Dewa (ritual servant woman) and belian (ritual servant man) will recite a mantra (indeed) and then perform the tepong tawar ritual to the Sultan. They sprinkled sacred water on some limbs of the Sultan and the Sultan would scratch his forehead and eyebrows with coins.

The Sultan then put the betel tree flowers into a jar (molo) containing Kutai Lama water, then sprinkled the water on the four corners of the wind, which was continued by sprinkling water with his hands to the relatives and the audience.
