Pokdarwis Kejawen, Joy of Traditional Dressed Mothers in Solo Carnival

Helloindonesia.id – Even though they were no longer young, their enthusiasm for being one of the participants who took part in the Solo Carnival did not lose to young people. This is the Kejawen Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) which also enlivened the Solo Carnival parade which this year took the theme of Celebrating Javanese Costumes.

While holding a pestle or a rice pounder and wearing a typical caping hat for mothers going to the fields, these mothers walked slowly in the line of the parade of the Carnival Solo which took place along the road from Ngarsupura to Jalan Sudirman the location of the peak Carnival Solo event was held .

The colorful lurik clothes they wear look to give their own color in the Solo Carnival procession. Although the journey of the procession that had to be traveled took quite a long distance, but they still walked with enthusiasm. “We are happy to be able to join this parade,” said one participant from the Kejawen Pokdarwis.

Occasional smiles from their lips when they hear the applause of the citizens of Solo who witnessed this parade along the central street of Solo City. With baskets on their waists tirelessly they continued walking down the street. That night their enthusiasm seemed to multiply because the peak of the Solo Carnival event was also attended by Solo Mayor FX Hadi Rudyatmo.

At the end of the Solo Carnival event which performed a colossal dance titled Adeging Kutha Sala featuring processions from all parade participants. The Pokdarwis Kejawen delegation received a warm welcome from the people of Solo City that night packed Jalan Sudirman to witness this batik city anniversary.
